You walked away from high paying jobs, most of you with 5 weeks paid vacation, full benefits including tuition, adoption, employee assistance programs, etc. All so Bernie could get some free press.

@GW5ceba-1nml don't spend that money too quick honey, as your man will has a better than 1/5 chance of being riffed in the next 12 months. No one is doing his regular job now. So if he is not missed, than his possiblity of being riffed goes up. Many people posting here are former and current managers with 15 or more years experience. So don't be surprised when he comes home and tells you that he got fired.
I just heard from my uncle big Management rif coming end of second quarter.. Keep working hard for lowell.....He Appreciates it
Thanks Lowell. Get back to work while you still have a job left to go back to yourself.
Wyi, idiot. You think employees going on EWA don't have their normal jobs covered for? My husband just got done with a 12 hour shift, doing his work and an EWA's work, and will be waking up at 6 am tomorrow to do it again with a big smile on his face. It's called earning a paycheck. Something the union folk know nothing about. Pay the union to get you your cooking classes and let you eat donuts 7 hours a day and do one job the other hour. Those days are done as soon as the lock out commences.
I hope the union people are saving the paycheck they got this week. Word is that may be the last paycheck they get from Verizon ever.
Verizon management didn't even stay the weekend to negotiate. Seems they've already decided to let this thing run it's course, lock everyone out, and replace the 39k strikers with about 19k new employees who can do the same job for cheaper, don't require pensions, and don't mind pitching in for their healthcare.
So what. Everyone knows RIF is coming. They are not scared at all. You should be scared when the company lock you out.
EWA-ers , I trust you realize the longer the strike lasts , nobody is doing your normal job. If your job can go unattended a few weeks and nothing drastic happens to your department's financial bottom line, They Dont Need You and The word RIF is written on your back when Strike ends
@ncp Interesting.. I'm at 19 years now and with my week of personal time, I get five weeks. Looks like being non-union has paid off for me. Individually we can negotiate as well.
You lie,
They do not want you to pay 400.00 per month for health care, but about 250.
Compared to most companies that is great.
Health care is going up.
Cannot be free anymore, especially with Obuttheadcare.
You vote, now you lose.
Stupid union scum.
The hell do people wanna put the good union workers against the forced corporate work. We are all in this together against verigreedy. If wireless even talked about unionizing we'd all be sh-- canned faster than it takes Lowell to lay off a 1000 jobs. The EWAers are completing 2 jobs a day and making the union work look good. I did EWA one year and I'm sure as hell not cut out for it. We owe the guys who laid the infrastructure a hundred years and maintaining it now a big round of applause.
Don't you realize that while you are here doing a terrible job of covering for us fat, entitled, uneducated slobs. No one is doing your job. Why? Because you are not needed. You are merely a Lowell gofor. You are too dumb to realize that while you are here destroying our customer base, Lowell and his cronies are figuring a way to cheat the system and replace all of you with H1-B's as they did in 2015. You will return to your cubicles after weeks or months of doing nothing, to find that once again the executives that the VZ Teamers fall in line for, have again stuck it in your a$$.
I'm not in the union - an ex-VZ'er. There's support for you - don't be intimidated by the brass. If Wireless employees had any sense - especially in the call centers, stores and IT, they'd unionized. It will be too late once the hammer falls in the next 18 months on them.
Lowell and his cronies are only concerned with lining their pockets with millions to care for their families. They could care less about impacts to employees - it's evident by the constant re-orging, layoffs and piling more work on people who are stressed to the hills.
The PR debacle has been great and well deserving of an arrogant organization. It was great to see Lowell dragged on LinkedIn - hope it was a shot to his ego. He lacks emotional intelligence to truly care about his employees. Do you see AT&T striking - they have strong unions too, but their C-suite understands the partnership with unions. Lowell was only seen with the strikers for optics.
Stand strong union members - fight for fair wages and benefits. You work hard - you've earned it!!
OP is a mad moron. or a troll, or lowell. Like I said...moron.
Yeah and Verizon wants to force transfer anyone in the footprint for up to 4 months at a time. Verizon wants to close work centers and move good USA jobs to other countries for a fraction of the cost, just to pad the bottom line. They want us to pay about 400 a month for medical which is too high in my opinion. Your damn right we are going fight and get what we deserve. I have worked many 22 hour or more days on cable damages in dead of summer and in the middle of winter....If lowell is worth 20 million we are worth every penny of our compensation packages and more
Thanks for the update lowell....love u!😂
zvs you sound very intelligent.
Bernie has 11 million undocumented folks looking for jobs. He might ask you for help.
Actually the fight is to keep all that stuff you mention. BTW 5 weeks vacation is for people with 30 or more years of service, which is definitely not "most of us".
Interesting that you think Bernie gets press from the Union, I think you got that backwards, but you management/scab types are not too smart.
Thank God for Bernie Sanders, the only politician who speaks for the working class.
