Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite, my little scabby's!

From what I've seen and heard, it sounds like many of you are already getting tired & homesick. Also, seeing quite a few complaints on Facebook & Twitter. This is not good for CHURN. Tomorrow morning, we will talk about your BIG ROCK and save it as the screensaver on your tablets. Please remember to be out of the garage by 7:15 and no taking a break until after your first job is complete. P.S. there is to be no internet browsing on the company tablets or smartphones. This is a code of conduct violation.

So do the union folks understand that the union bosses do NOT work for VZ and are still getting paid no matter how long the strike is. Do the union folks understand that the union bosses really don't care what the new contract says. They just want you to stay in the union and pay your dues so they make millions of dollars each year. Do the union employees understand that it really doesn't matter what the end result is...Verizon will win and the union bosses will cave and they will tell the union folks they did their best and the contract is great--even though it won't be...It won't matter. Union folks will still listen to union bosses and pay dues. I am an adult. I think for myself. No one tells me what to do or how to do it. I work hard. I continue to further my education and certifications so I can be a valuable member of a team....VZ or otherwise. I am responsible for my destiny, Not a union boss. Get a grip, get a clue, get an education and get a job that you are qualified for...not one you think you are entitled to.

this OP is an example of the 20% of union members who are just ignorant shmucks who love to run their illiterate yaps every three years...you'd cross to the other side of the street if you saw them coming your way...it's a shame too because most union members are nice men and women

I find it very funny these "scabs" can be trained to do your job in very little time when you would never be able to do their job. Would they like to be at home in their own beds and spending time with their family, yes, but the reality of it is they are teaching their kids that sometimes responsibility is fun or easy.

At least we are working , not hanging out in a bowling alley whining to anyone who will listen. Some of the picketers at VZW look like Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. Many of these people would not know how to do a day's work.

a SCAB is a UNION person that crosses the line, not a management person that is forced to work because you left your job. Look it up on Websters:

(1) : a worker who refuses to join a labor union MANAGEMENT IS NOT ALLOWED 2 : a union member who refuses to strike or returns to work before a strike has ended [MANAGEMENT ARE NOT UNION LABOR] (3) : a worker who accepts employment or replaces a union worker during a strike [WE ALREADY WORK HERE] (4) : one who works for less than union wages or on nonunion terms [HOURLY WE MAKE MORE].

That said I have great respect for the Front Lines - it is NOT an easy job - in the field or in the Call Center. No one I know of would be unhappy if you would settle and return to work. No job here is easy that I know of - that's why we get paged a good wage. I don't blame you for fighting to keep what you have. Wish we had that option. That said, we are not scabs. Good luck out there.

When I see these Union rants, it helps me understand why everyone has no sympathy for these guys. Overpaid and they don't do enough work, then complain about others doing their job because they walked out.

Wow all the bitching I hear from you guys is ridiculous. Seriously if all you have to bitch about is when your bathroom breaks are and not using company property for personal use?

As for people complaining about being home sick, yeah you will get that from people. If we wanted your jobs we would have applied for them. However we didn't but we have to cover them because for some reason almost 40,000 employees didn't show up to work because thier master said not to.

I was also told to show up but the difference is I am getting paid to this. Yeah yeah yeah I will hear "wait till you get riffed" but do you really think they will. Do you? Just like you think your coming back or getting a better contract. Hey we can dream because that's what is scabs do.
