I think the latter. VZ isn't giving in -- they can't afford to with that boat anchor of a landline business they have -- and the union thinks they have the upper hand (for some reason I can't fathom).

Nothing has been done and I doubt anything will be done until sometime in May or even June. If the union thinks VZ is going to give even a penny more than it's already offered they are in for a long, long wait.

Every strike has the potential to cause longer waits and more headaches. This is news?

Verizon's service isn't that good anyway so it's not like people will be shocked. And this strike doesn't affect Wireless employees anyway, just wireline There aren't that many wireline customers anymore, especially wireline customers that stand in line for anything.
