Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Future of verizon fios and wireless

5G is BS and basically WiFi. At the frequencies required for speed it WONT PENETRATE WALLS! It also requires the fiber to the home to work at speed. With unlicensed cells coming, long range you will go down to Walmart and buy your own cell, if you want to waste the money. The technology still requires an underlying network for voice unless you use VOIP. Verizon has cut back over the years and the network is overloaded and needs several carriers built in so many areas now while they save money. Major military installations have speeds during the day of less than 4kbps on 4G and they keep saying 5G will give capacity! BS! Most military locations won't allow sites on base and the VOLTE is already a very poor performer already. The only thing 5G will do is allow verizon to charge for the device, connection and then you get stuck with the fiber bill on top. Cell as we have known it is gone and the data network with seamless data through communal devices is here. Google Find project is the future and verizon is aiming at providing the mid stream and spam via adds and paid programming! FiOS should survive and wireless will go just like the rotary phone.

If it were that easy then why is google trying every way possible to compete with Verizon's established plant who also recently purchased XO communications fiber network.

Google has resorted to attempting to fly hot air balloons to send wifi signal, you know what they finally resorted too? Laying there own fiber. Why would such a technologically advanced company resort to such archaic designs. Because it's the only way to provide reliable high bandwidth circuits. And it's profitable as f---! Ask Lowwell! Cronie!

What's worse is when many towns build their own Wi-Fi networks and everyone can get a Wi-Fi enabled VOIP cell phone. You won't even need towers unless you're in the sticks.
