@1sx You still have you pay for Obama Care. It's not free.
We are in tristate area around 20min from Manhattan.
Your husband must work somewhere very rural. All the loads in DC area....Pittsburgh area....NYC area are very high! There are almost zero new installs being done
The number of people who have crossed the picket line company-wide is now a hundred and twenty. And it's only the third day. The company has already hired outside sourcing to supplement what the managers are doing. PLS Union see this and sign a contract this is not a 1980
I heard Obama care would kick in after April. So Union can still have coverage on health which is good.
It's probably a good chance for union to compare and realize what they have with Verizon with what general public outside Verizon have
No $$$ April 29th, Mortgage/rent due May 1st,
@jnu Totally agree. Some of them seem to think the Union will pick up their benefits after the 30th of the month. Fat chance on that one.
Hey Lowell. I don't work for Verizon, but I'd be happy to report for SCAB duty. $18M a year should cover my salary. We can negotiate my stock options and golden parachute next week. Oh BTW, that $18M is guaranteed, regardless of if I do anything useful or not. I want to be just like you.
*haul - Sorry about those typo's. Phone keyboard drives me batty.
I think VZ will hold out for the long hall. It is day three and it is moving pretty smooth. Husband is in the load and they just finished their third job starting their fourth- that was just called in today by the customer, commitment date was the 19th. Hope it ends soon but I just don't see it happening.
By the 29th quite a few will cross the picket line. You have already seen company-wide about 60 people cross. Once you take away benefits quite a few will join them.
