Sanders is just like any politician. He'll say and do whatever he thinks will get him more votes, money, or free publicity. (Free as in paid for with the lost wages of the sheep he goaded into striking. )

The are more interested in growth so now they want to compete with youtube and amazon and advertising companies. They don't want to be a phone company anymore. But guess what? We are a phone company?

For the salary that man is paid, he should have been able to write something better than that. And all of the Verizon sycophants praising his "powerful" article sound like lesser officials in North Korea.

It basically shows that the execs really have no comprehensive marketing plan that stands any chance of succeeding. But why should they care. The are already so wealthy it would make no difference to them if Verizon succeeds or fails. And it is quite clear that AT&T does have a winning strategy as they back the workers that helped make them great.
Lowell on the other hand must firmly believe that he alone created Verizon. He is following in the footsteps of his WorldCom predecessors. So sell your stock now and switch your services. Verizon is on the way down.
