Ok @eat. Go apply for jobs during the strike and see what kind of pay and benefits are being offered. You didn't Earn your wage. You applied and took a job that had a good wage that a union negotiated. You work to make and earn that wage.
Trust me, its no better on the non-union side (notice i said non-union, not management, because i am not a manager)... supposed to report at 7 but still no official notice where to go
The Union hasn't given me anything! I go to work everyday and EARN my paycheck every day. And while it is true that it is because of the Union I get the pay and benefits that I do, our members EARNED them through sacrifice. The Union heads work for us, the members, and they owe it to us to keep us in the loop.
Why is everyone so negative about everything the union does? If the union strikes, (this is crap! We shouldn't be striking! We're gonna lose! This is stupid!) And if the union doesn't strike. (This is stupid! Our union is so weak! Afraid to do anything! The union and the company are in bed together!) it doesn't matter what the union does. People will cry and complain. It's no wonder they don't tell us why or when they make a decision. I'm embarrassed as a union member every time I hear people complain about what the union does. They're not perfect by far, but they have given us fair pay and benefits.
Even been to the DMV? That's a union environment. 'nuff said.
Unions are outdated and like the antique car your grandma still drives!
