I am with a financial services company. The unions have said Verizon wants to freeze pensions, make layoffs easier and rely more on contract workers.
It's sad companies are trying to do this now. Instead of offering quality employment they would rather have contract workers and high turnover rates so they don't have to pay for benefits and maximize their profits. F--- them. I have had Verizon for years and I've noticed how greedy they have gotten

Typical American big business. Verizon would rather lose revenue, and over pay subcontractors and over-seas call center companies rather than do the work here with their own employees.
Verizon has it's own internal marketing targeted an convincing it's own employees to "make do with less..." "less days off" "less pay" "less compensation for working ungodly hours" "less family time" LESS LESS LESS of everything else in your life but your heart and soul belong to your employer 24/7.
