To the poster its only a "thing of the past" if you shrug your shoulders and do nothing about it. Stand up for yourself don't let anyone walk all over you grow a set and use them. This new generation has no fight in them at all these are not gifts they are all part of compensation that has been negotiated for If you don't fight you don't receive. Strap on a set Lowell and the gang aren't going to out of the goodness of their hearts give you anything. Stop looking for a reason to not fight for yourself they would surely take from you if given the opportunity.

Is that you Lowell? Get back to work! Don't you have an EWA in Brooklyn?

Those who were riffed are with the union as are many of their former colleagues who are still working, as they know what happens if you are an American at or around the age of 50.

The poster probably got RIF'd already .... if not, he'll be next .... as soon as the union wins and his EWA is over. Good riddance.

The OP is a total ignoramous! The company would rather have all of your on obamacare then pay for benefits promised, then pocket some of the savings as incremental increases in LTI. The called this one wrong and now it this will cost them dearly between the resulting fines from the states, feds and loss of customer goodwill. Well done Building 4!

Another millennial milquetoast with little grasp of ideas like integrity and honoring promises to employees. The managers were severely screwed out of their pensions because of gross mismanagement by some former CFOs who left the pensions underfunded. But if you are a director making more than 200K or a VP making more than 400K, pensions and retiree health care is not much of an issue. But for the other 150K employees these are very real costs considerations. 401k plans were originally established as a 'supplement' to a pension, not a pension. I know thousands of managers who are pulling for the union on this one. Lowmac and Shamwow and their ilk need to be fired, and by the time this strike ends, my guess is that will happen.
