NY Taxes for EWA

Those going to NY for EWA be prepared to have NY take state taxes out of your pay, along with your existing state of residence(yep, double taxed). You'll be filing a 2016 and 2017 NY state return to get it all back(in addition to your own States return), because NY will tax your STI for 2016 when you get it paid out in Q1 next year.😈

Wasn't intending to scare. In 2011 I was taxed by both NY and my own state(so yes double taxed) at least until the EWA was through). I got it all back by filing non resident NY 2011(on income earned while EWA) and 2102(on NY taxes taken from my STI for 2011, but paid in Q1 of 2012). Just stating that it was a 2year tax headache to take care of.

You get a credit for taxes paid to another state, so no double taxation. Nice scare tactic though.

F NY on my STI.

I do not live there, if I have to go, I will pay on my income earned but not my STI.
