With a pending strike tomorrow, why hasn't the company told us to book travel and make plans? Is it not going to happen?

I'm just looking forward to that sweet OT if it all goes down. Don't care about the union or management says about what. Pay me.
Good attitude uio. Last time around I ended up with what amounted to an extra pay period of pay and got to meet and hang with lots of colleagues I had only ever talked to on the phone. That was a definite plus. These strikes are not all bad for those getting an EWA.
In a weird way I hope there is a strike. I'll travel to a part of the country I've not seen before, get to do a job I've not done before, get some nice OT, and basically just shake up the same job I've been doing for so many years. I have no delusions I can do the job anywhere near the level the union tech can do it. I also know dealing with the picketers will be trying to say the least. But it is what it is and i'll make the best of it.
THERE WILL BE NO STRIKE. THEY ARE MEETING RIGHT NOW,UNION WILL SAY COMPANY GAVE IN HOLD THE STRIKE.

I was just told I have to report to work midnight shift in the South Bronx. ughhhhhhhh
how did we get pulled into this they lay off half of my department and now I have to work outside during a strike what happened to this place.
Waiting to make sure that they do walk and not just a 1 day media hype. Hearing discussion going on between Union head and VZ at BR. We will see....

Found out two managers are out sick now I was chosen to take their duty thanks Verizon. Some are immune to any adversity someone else always pays their bill.
i think you should wait to see if they strike before you travel, that is what they said for August.
Most assignment don't require significant travel now. The report time is 3hrs from notice. Pack today go tomorrow.
Hotels are booked under 6hrs travel will be rental vehicles over 6hrs will be flights we have 3 driving and 6 flying we are fumbling around trying to get answers no one wants to take responsibility.
