Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Hard for me to rally around the union

Started in the fiber solution center in 2013. Not eligible for pension, Verizons matches my 401k,benefits are you cheap compared to other people companies(even if the rates went up they would sti be competitive)

Only thing I'm upset about is them wanting to offshore my job. Still going to stand in line with my other union members. To be honest though in not 100 percent into it.

Was told today's from a union rep that they hate thier job and company. Told them find a new job life is short. They told me that they can't find another job to pay them what they get paid.

This is why the lazy bitches are still here. They are the greedy ones who rather bitch all day about why this one has more than them. They should get the same it's a union. Not fair get a clue

ckj you missed it---- I'm saying the same thing others say to the workers--- why is it workers are told if they don't like something they can leave----- just because you don't like something you have to cut off your nose to spite your face-----

they have a choice to work where they want, same as you. Why do they have to go? They have their jobs (what ever they do, leading the company). You and I have ours. This always seems to sound like envy to me, how much THEY get.

I chose where I am and what I do.

I can be happy with that, even when (it seems that) I do more than those around me getting paid the same.

mlf you really are a kool aid drinker. I have lots of education that the company paid for and have spent more than half my life there. I helped build that company. The new crowd seems more intrested in tearing it down. Lowmac didn't even come from one of the predecessor companies. I am still suprised he got picked for CEO. He looks the part, sounds the part, but he definitely cannot walk the walk. Total wireless guy.

Has anyone thought, "why don't I look for another job with another company?" Or how about, "I'm going to use the tuition assistance program to get an education so I can make more money."

This is a country of free choice, if you don't like how much you are or are not being paid or how you are or are not being treated, then go find work elsewhere.

It is not a companies obligation to support everything you want to do in your life. Remember, an honest day's work for an honest day's pay? Two sides to that fence, try to see from the other side.

You are not getting a pension because you were sold out in the 2011 strike, when the union was not prepared but the company was. If the union loses, you will have even less benefits as time goes on.
