This company doesn't care about you, me,union , non Union or its customers. It's all about how much money they can keep for themselves.
Let's be honest, the ONLY reason vz is playing hard ball and wanting to make drastic changes is because they think they can get away with it. All this non sense with freezing the pension at 30 years (why?), and other give back demands doesn't make any sense.
They claim legacy contracts from a different era. Ok , right, in that era you had 100,000 union employees in NY alone. Now you have 39,000 on the east coast. You have probably 70% percent less employees now then you did back then. So what's the problem? You have less people to pay pensions too, medical for, 401ks to match. That's your savings right there-less people
There's no need for this.
So what we have is a game of thrones like battle. The little people with the EWAs sent into battle while Lowell and his cronies watch from afar.
All this crap about the customer from the corporate emails. Why don't they give a crap about the customer now? (Missed appointments, bad copper, no fios option ) do they only care for the poor customer during a strike situation?
I hope all the non Union people shipped to the east coast to work the strike don't do a damn thing. Just sit in the truck and idle. If Verizon is going to screw you after the strike is over, they are going to do it no matter how hard you worked for them during these times. They just don't care about you
