Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Strike or no Strike..... I am dropping VZ for AT&T wireless as soon as my contract is up!!!

Was looking at the AT&T website I will be saving about $20 a month with them after the 15% discount they offer to CWA/IBEW. And since I cannot get FIOS in my area I am going to switch from Cablevision to Directv and save an additional $10 a month off my wireless bill. On top of that you get a free 48 inch Samsung Smart tv. As well as the NFL Sunday ticket. I will have to keep Cablevision for Internet though.

Do what you want, but Just yesterday I had a guy at church complaining about trying to make a cell call from inside and all he got was someone unable to hear him and then a dropped call. Yup, he's got AT&T.

AT&T gives Verizon (MCI/Government/CWA/IBEW) employees a 20% discount off their bill, 5% more than the CWA/IBEW diccount.

We switched to T-mobile. I pay less for 3 lines with 10 GB data each than what my employee discount covered for our 3 lines on a 10 GB shared plan. Plus, T mobile's Binge On program lets you use services such as YouTube, Netflix, and Pandora without counting against your data. Think Go90, but with real content that you are interested in.

My family already did that and coverage/speed is no different. You know what else is really cool? Rollover data. Price wise we're only saving about $10 a month but I feel much better about it.

I was always skeptical of Directv due to their outages during storms and such, but I believe you can stream Directv on your electronic devices. So if I am getting bad reception I can just stream Directv from my tablet to Smartv. I will keep FIOS for internet for as long as I can keep my employee discount though. As for wireless .... Another 2 months and I am switching to AT&T. No need to continue donating money to the Verizon elite anymore.

It's not a bad idea. At least I get some return on my union dues. I am a little sick and tired of these schmuck at the top getting rich off our hard work and on top of that I send them a check for $200 a month. No more. Can get the same service for a lower price somewhere else . My loyalty to this company has officially left the building .
