Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Layoffs are coming to the Northeast Wednesday 4/13. 20% reduction for all of frac. Details below.

They took the 40 hour guarantee away company wide with hopes that employees will start to quit. The Northeast has 1 of 5 crews (maybe 2 by now) pumping. Work is drying up. Lots of it will be picked up by cheaper competition. Halliburton won't be keeping extras around if it's not justified. That's just common sense but I know because I overheard a conversation about it between some managers. Zanesville will get it for sure and what's good for Zanesville is good for Montgomery too. 20% will get cut and they hope a bunch more will quit. Expect reduced severance packages this time.

Also if you're crews on the Zanesville yard expect to get very few hours. I got sent home at less than 40. Sad

Montgomery and Muncy were both pretty much closed down today. There maybe a few CMT guys left but i am not sure.

FWIW, not everyone lost the 40 hr guarantee. I thought the same when we lost ours but after some investigation and phone calls, I found that this wasn't the case. There are several sub PSL that kept their 40. Doesn't seem all that fair to me, especially when we all received an mail from a VP explaining how we were ALL in this together. Go figure that. I'm kind of watching to see how long it is before lawyers get involved in all this.

Someone was saying that there was a big meeting in Canonsburg this week and that there is another next week also about changes in the Northeast.

I keep hearing that CMT is letting 20 go. Talisman has shut down for a month but i keep hearing that it my be for 3 months. Not good either way for Montgomery. Also heard that the CMT and Maintenance managers from Montgomery are moving to Zanesville.
