What better stage to expose one the biggest American offenders of corporate greed, than the New York Headquarters of Verizon, during the New York primaries, and while each politician is championing the middle class vote. This should be Union heaven right now , They should not let this golden opportunity pass. Strike Now, and let Verizon explain how they are making a Billion dollars a month profit, and shipping American jobs overseas. Let them explain their corporate salaries while looking to take back from the American worker. Strike now, let them explain.

Bernie Sanders Joined a Verizon Union Rally in Philadelphia, That's a fact. His whole campaign is against corporate Greed. Hilary Clinton is in pretty good fight with him now that Bernie has this momentum going winning the last 8 states. Bernie Sanders would join a picket line against corporate greed here in New York. It would be covered, I guarantee that. She can't lose New York. She would absolutely have to denounce Verizon's corporate greed, Who could defend it? the other candidates would have to weigh in at that point. All I'm saying is this would be a huge embarrassment for Verizon. Verizon would be exposed for sending jobs overseas. CEO's salaries would be exposed. It's just something Verizon would not want...Use this to you advantage while this is here in Verizon's Headquarters back yard. If Verizon picket line marched down from 1095 6th avenue or 140 West to Wall Street with Bernie Leading the way...protesting Verizon sending American jobs to India and the Philippines all the while making record profits, and exposing executive salaries. YES this is the Leverage the Union needed.
You guys all make the false assumption that the general public gives a care about your cause. More than 50% of the people would kill to have the benefits and pay you get from this "greedy maggot corporation" for the work you do. They have no sympathy for you and your cause. The politicians will largely ignore your points. You are not in poverty so you are not a high value target. They know who funds their campaigns and they will spin it maybe say a line or two to get your support but there will be no real action. That is of course if the union has the balls to strike.
This would barely be covered by news reports and be even less a part of any presidential candidate discussion. How many unions accross the country are currently on strike, and not a peep. There were over 47,000 workers that striked in 2015, did you ever hear about many of these? Contract negotiations and striking are fairly common. Besides, many of the Verizon workers that would be going on strike are considered by all accounts to be in the top 25% of wage earners, so I doubt there would be a huge amount of solidarity with the bottom 75%. If the politicians are going to talk about any issue in this regards it will be about raising the minimum wage to hundreds of thousands to $15 / hr...do you really think they will talk too much about those making $50?
I don't really care if there is or is not a strike, neither affects me, just saying.
And when the majority of middle class Americans see your pay, your benies, and the fact that you want more, that's where you lose.
The Union should make this fight part of the Presidential election. No better time than right now. Have the candidates weigh in on this matter of the American worker against corporate greed during a American worker strike. The politicians have to court the American workers vote at this point, not a corporations. Verizon could only look like scoundrels in this. What possibly could Verizon say to the American people to defend themselves? They have already shipped American jobs to India and the Philippines this year alone. Let that be told to America. They make Billions in profit. Their executive salaries are absurdly gross and embarrassing. Yet they want to take from the American worker, and diminish their lives while increasing there own personal wealth. They could never defend themselves. All the While each candidate is being asked by the press for there comments about this American work stoppage, on a this National stage. There is not one candidate in this election that could possibly defend Verizon at that point. It would be a enormous embarrassment to Verizon. The Time is now.
The union will not strike because they do not have the complete backing of their members. After a three week strike the ranks would break, thus destroying the union.
