If the union gets nothing and managers are riffed, who do you think will be serving who fries? What other industry can you go and take your talents behind what you do and be successful?

All the VZ Management posts on here dogging the union. Newsflash: If we're gone, so are you. You think offshoring our jobs wont impact you? You're nuts! You'll be looking for work just as we'll be if sh*t hits the fan. Would YOU like fries with that?
As a non-union employee with an EWA assignment, I just want to say that the "Would you like fries with that?" guy is a f---ing a--hole and 99% of the company is behind you guys. I don't want to be a scab, but they really aren't giving us any choice. I can get canned with no consequences if I refuse. It's sh--ty. I support the CWA 100%.
This is a union of glorified telegraph operators. Keep tapping away, you wire monkeys, you'll be going the way of the dodo in 5 years time. In the meantime, go picket, strike, do what you need to do. I'll be stringing up copper as badly as you do and be getting paid OT to do it. I'd say memorize the term "do you want fries with that" but those are being automated too. If it's such an issues then consumers would not fly Delta, instead another airline would compete in a "free market" and provide the customers what they want.
If that requires paying an employee a different wage then so be it. But I don't think Delta is hurting right now,

OK, allow me to give you an example of your plan. Delta Airlines had well paid Delta employees loading customers bags on planes. Then someone like you thought, let's hire all new baggage handlers and pay them 8 dollars an hour. Now theft is at an all time high, and traveler's are told to avoid checking a bag. That's one example of many.
Why give 500 bucks to 186,000 people. When you can give millions and millions to a few people. Simple economics. Poor people wont notice. Besides these guys earned it this was no public utility were talking about this was a family owned business that their grandfathers built from the ground up
I don't get how the Union expects to do the same job and get paid top salaries for the life of their career. You get paid based on the demand and skill of the job. If you can hire someone to do it for cheaper it makes perfect business sense to source that work, and use that capital gains to innovate in other areas that creates new innovative jobs in other sectors. This will produce new cutting edge technologies and high paying jobs, economics 101. All business do this, if you want to keep a high paying job then continue to gain skills and follow the demand of the job market and obtain meaningful employment from those jobs with those skills.
Verizon has overpaid for these jobs for a long time because they could. But now technology is moving so fast they just can be foolish enough to not move work into a cheaper labor force.
I have nothing against the union just don't understand what you're fighting against. If you don't like it go work somewhere else, that's the beauty of a free country and a free market. Employers will pay top dollar for the right skills, trust me. Now forcing someone to meet your demands and pulling the government in to do the dirty work is unconstitutional.
Also, slogans that talk about executives with big pay checks. Well so what, what do you think the leaders of a billion dollar companies should make? Lowell's checks is what? 20M? Let's say the top 10 executives behind him cost the company a total of 100M (20M for Lowell included). Last time I checked there was around 186k employees. If you take their salaries down to ZERO DOLLARS we all get an extra 537 bucks a year. WOW!

No backup from Frontier anymore and this is going to seriously slow down 5G deployment. The union is like a wife, it's cheaper to keep her, but this management led by Lowell has made a series of very bad decisions so I don't expect them to smarten up now. McAdams has turned the company into the poster child for everything wrong with American corporations today. Kudos to you creepy man!

Last time I checked, if you don't like your situation then quit and improve it or get the necessary experience to move on. What a bunch of bitches. We'll see of that happens. The Union is just playing games as usual. What's all the drama about either go out on strike now or settle the contract. Whatever the company offered is what you got. What are your waiting for. This is getting OLD!
Strike is going to called by Tuesday. I don't necessarily think it's the unions best move but we'll see.
