Sorry my brother and sisters, there has been some confusion and hare to break it to you. We are only going on strike for 2-3 days tops. I have to save face and show you guys I meant business. I was able to polish Lowell and management off well so we are good. Well I am good and got mines in more then one way. You guys however are not going to be so lucky. Basically if I can be frank, will take it without the KY. They may spit first but it's going to hurt anyways. So make the best of the three days out there then get back to work and keep my dues coming.

Cash cow wireline properties?!? What are you smoking?
If they were cash cows they would have never been sold...they teach you that in business 101. Every financial analyst would have been trashing Verizon all over the news. Guess what? Nobody said anything about it. Hence it was not a bad business decision. If wireline was such a cash cow Verizon would be pumping tons of money in expanding it...again business 101. Maybe the guys in charge of a company that makes 1 billion a month know a little bit more than you?
It is not enough for them to honor all of their promises and still allow mac and shamwow enough money to buy things that will distract wall street. So far everything that shamwow and his buddies have purchased has turned out to be losers and they have sold off all of their cash cow wireline properties, leaving the more difficult and thinner margined ones. The irony is that because of all of their poor decision making that they are no more reliant on craft workers than ever, at a time when they are planning to screw them more than ever. What a bunch of idiots. I am glad I took my 16% and sold all of the company stock that I could.
If the company is in so much debt, why bring up the fact they post a profit every month of billions?
The funny thing is that the public is more behind unions than they've been in a long time. A guy like Sanders doesn't get his support from narrow-minded, corporate sycophants like some of the envious shills inhabiting this message board but rather gets it from working people who are sick of crony capitalism. You can try and make a case that the public will get behind a shady corporate giant who charges too much for their cell service but let's be real - not happening. And all the debt that VZ is in? Totally the fault of the McAdam led crew. They shouldn't be getting any bonuses or phantom stock after sending VZ's credit rating down the drain. That's meritocracy.
I hope each side can get together and squish these pimply matters.... puss will come out but the wound will heal and Verizon. Will become Google and the ultimate world company and create that system that destroyed the world in Terminator.... YAY!!!!

I have a neighbor who works for Boeing, he describes the same treatment that we see here. When productivity is up and wages are down the leaders think they found the formula for succsess, hopefully it will turn around.
Unions aren't the problem. Verizon management is. Their lack of vision is. Their lack of respect for ALL employees. Their lack of respect for their own customers. Their greed. Their deception and lies to the public and those that support them. The list goes on. Most unethical blue chip company that exists today. I hope they go down in flames.

While I don't believe all the conspiracy stuff, you're absolutely right that we will never come back as a Union if we walk. The company has us right where they want us, divided. Most members, who are realistic in their needs, see a stagnant/dying industry and just want to survive. They do not want to go on strike for a contract that is worse than we have now. Then there is the other side who buys into the corporate greed (forgetting VZ is $113 BILLION in debt) theory and apparently, want to be martyrs for the cause. Interesting times are ahead, but I hope those screaming loudly to strike, and are mocking the company, realize just what it is they are doing.

You just don't get it do you? Anyone? If the union walks out they are not coming back. Not in a few days, not in a few months. The lock out will be immediate and the company will turn a deaf ear. You think a federal mediator will help? Think again. The company has already bought and paid for that mediator. You think Bernie will save you? Think again. The company has donated a lot more money to Bernie than the CWA has given him (from your wages). It's over for the CWA at Verizon. It was over when the contract expired. It's not corporate greed, it's survival. The union is not going to wreck this company. You think the union leadership doesn't know this? You think their anything more than a tool for the company? Other than the union employees who will no longer be able to afford cell phones or fios, verizon won't lose a single customer. No one likes unions anyone. The US is sick to death of seeing socialism destroy companies. So follow the leader you socialists sheep. Walk out. Stay out. And tell your kids they have to go to the County hospital for their health care from now on because you quit your job out of stupidity. Tell your family you'll be shopping at the food bank from now on because you quit your job out of stupidity. Go collect unemployment, welfare, charity. When Christmas comes around you can sign your kids up for toys for tots and hope someone else's charity will do what you, as a parent, have failed to do. More than half the work at Verizon is already done by contractors. You think they can't cover your measly sh-- as well? So long suckers, it's been a long time coming.
None of this $hit matters. Verizon is fuking broke. Beyond broke. How come no one sees that?
