I'm going laugh when this hyped up 5G turns out to be not as promised and they'll be forced to catch up to everyone else with fiber deployment. Google isn't known for stupid business decisions.

Nothing to worry about. All these trash talkers will be able to show us just how good they are on youtube. Hint. It aint like school.
5g to the home will still need a fiber fed node. It will have to be placed close to the customers it serves. It will be a buildout of fiber to many areas feeding nodes which will go wireless from there. So yes the workforce will be smaller but fiber will need to be placed, spliced, and it does fail. The wet dream of 5g to the rescue has many road blocks. Remember if 5g is the future it will be the future for all carriers.
