If your trying to prove to the company how much the employees are needed why would you not tell people to not work overtime to make a point. Especially since contract negotiations are not going well. I don't get it??

It's all part of the belief Cycle, if there's a need for overtime, there's the illusion of lots of work, but reality is, the system stays broken so every cog feels relevant and overly sophisticate each process...disconnecting itself further from efficiency on purpose, just to say or prove...hey I'm needed...keep paying me. Verizon eats itself alive, to death. Like cancer
Stop it! Its all about the money. Why would anyone turn down an opportunity to make some money?
Because it really on effects those guys who DON'T work OT. They get forced when they want to go home , they run though the job to get done . company loves it The company doesn't care if they have move and force OT. Annoys 1st levels because they have to make the calls , but that's it. If you like/need the OT then work all you can get. Don't run ! do everything by the book .
Because unlike the vocal minority here that are screaming strike, the Union isn't dumb and they realize all of our careers are on borrowed time with this company. To tell ,not that many would listen if they did, people not to make all the extra money while they can in hopes of gaining a better contract would be foolish. There is no better contract to be had than the one we are currently working under. Some people need to wake up.
