Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Time is now, get angry and demand our voice be heard but tell this to your union steward.

Our committees have worked hard to grapple with and respond to the company’s concerns. Time is running out. Now is the time for the company to address the concerns of the hard-working union members at Verizon. If the Company wants to avoid a Strike they must seize this opportunity.

This is what we got from our union leadership. How long is this song and dance going to keep going on? When is someone going to make a move and get some? We need to get the attention of these fools and have them follow thru on what we voted on. We want a contract and know this process that is going on is nothing but showing everyone that we are not heard and the union is weak. We are far from that and need to stand together and start asking CWA leadership for answers. Since August we are without a contract but we still pay our dues. Why ask if we want to strike just to do sow thing else? They asked about who we wanted to support and they jumped on that band wagon real quick.

One thing is right the TIME IS NOW. Make calls and email leadership to move for a strike or let's get new leadership that are looking out for us not just themselves.

The anti union rhetoric is from idiots and th craft workers shoud hang on for dear life because lomac really does want to screw you like the company screwed the managers. So yes, they do want to kill your pension. And yes the company does want to make your retirement health care so expensive that you will end up picking obama care instead. You need to fight for your lives and you need to rally your pension buddies in all of the AFL CIO to get their money managers to insist that the top dogs at Verizon are fed to the wolves.

We knew the medical costs, we knew new hires no pension. The union will announce the positive, but we knew the negative.

All the anti union rhetoric from members and management is disgusting. A bunch of people that know nothing and like to get reactions.. With the members I see posting on this site I know why we give back every contract. You have to have faith in leadership, we all will have the final vote.

The strike vote was not for you to decide, it was for leadership (that knows more then you) to decided. Giving the union a yes or no on strike just gives leadership options, you don't have to like it, it's the way it is.

So if our vote count why are we not on strike when majority voted to strike? your logic makes no sense at all again they don't listen they are only looking out for themselves

I was able to vote before every contract was ratified. We are all responsible for past contracts, members spoke. I realize it's a blame other people society but not this time.

Yes the members did vote on everything you mention. When this deal is done check it out and vote for ramification or against. When more members vote yes, it's what you get.

I agree 100%. These cocksuckers continue to phuck us. Time to vote each and every one of them out, starting at the top. First it was job security, then it was health care. What are they going to agree to this time without the OK from the membership? I'm tired of shelling out $1,000+ dollars every year to be ignored. LEADERSHIP ARE YOU READING THIS? WE DEMAND A STRIKE NOW!
