I am curious why the union didn't try to get this guy his job back? For that matter, how could he have been let go so easily if there wasn't a clear cut case against him. This sounds more like a disgruntled employee than anything else. Because if you are losing your job and the union can't help you, it's usually really bad.

We have been falsifying time sheets forever, per management approval.

Game Over if the timesheet was falsified... You can bet VZ had it's team of it's labor lawyers and HR reviewing this case before they terminated him

The problem with the company is systemic harassment and abuse from the top down in order to shed its American work force and outsource as much as possible. Unbridled corporate greed at the utmost level. This is well documented within the company. The CEO and Board of Directors need to be investigated at the federal level for tax evasion and off shore tax shelters and illegally driving the revenue that was produced by landlines to the wireless side and the continued cost to consumers to this day of doing so. Phone and cable bills are increasingly padded by "taxes" that the company simply does not pay to the federal government. It is an abomination for any American company to have been built for 100 years by the dedication of its employees and the hard earned pay checks of its subscribers to turn into a corrupt corporate giant that pays its lawyers millions of dollars in order to violate the laws of this great land. Disgusting.

@lki - Go to the EEOC website. It has all the information you need to file a claim. I think if enough people come forward it would make a difference. It cost nothing to file a claim

56 with 24+ years. I knew a woman who was Black who was forced out at 60 to make room for a millennial Asian H1B who could barely speak english. Time to turn up the heat. A class action would be nice.

If he falsified a timesheet, and there is proof, that's all she wrote. Game over. Surely the company would have proof before terminating him, and the decision to do so would have come at the VP level along with HR consent and or direction.

And more bad news, lets hope it snowballs. In my 30 years I have seen many managers who come in and want to change the world. We are talking about a utility, let's stop thinking we are so important.

And it begins... I filed an age discrimination charge with the EEOC and they are investigating it. When I was laid off last November the majority of those laid off were over 40 and well paid. I hope many others do the same thing. Older employees were definitely targeted.

Well it seems as 'The Bard' would say: "The truth will out!"

Good luck with your lawsuit Ed.

I just emailed the reporter and told him about this site and the 1,000s of 'Eds' that have been burnt because of age and dollars.

I hope you join me.
