Just like last time any VZ IT personnel taken in my frontier will be cut within a year. There was a few exceptions but anyone we knew that went over was axed rather quickly
Showing you have no work is a great motivation to get rid of you and then play the "needs of the business" garbage card.

It's a shame because were buried in landline work at Verizon. We really just can't keep up with the Fios work especially. I'm not sure how it would work, but we could definitely use the help over here.
Yes. We keep ourselves busy with unfunded, zero ROI projects, that get scrapped at the end of the year. We project tons of soft benifits for our projects, those that business never signoff. We also keep moving functionality from one system to other system for no business reasons. It is just a way to keep IT teams busy.
Interesting, because the landline folks in the remaining Verizon footprint have been forced overtime for 9 months straight now. There is just not enough people to cover the heavy workload. It actually it looks like Verizon needs to hire.
