Verizon is a 200 billion dollar company that makes over one billion dollars a month profit and pays the CEO 18 million dollars a year. The top handful of executives are pulling down about 50 million a year in compensation. Verizon also just laid off 6k employees and have more H1B's and Indians ( actually working in India) on the payroll than you have hairs on your head. In current union contract negotiations Verizon is demanding the workers make pension, 401k and healthcare concessions. Tell me, where is the justification for any employee concessions in this scenario, other than the company feels that they can get away with it? This is UNBRIDLED GREED! And yet you've always got apologists that will defend this behavior. Just read the comments here to see what I mean. I don't know if these are trolls or if people here could really be so stupid. Our kids are going to have no options but minimum wage/no benefit jobs if you people don't realize that the working class has to start sticking together. Another commenter said it best when he asked if your 401k plan goes up 10 percent but the whole working class dies out, have we all won or lost? Also, It's no wonder to me that it's starting to look like outsiders Trump and Sanders will be our next Presidential candidates, because the establishment politicians are all full of sh1t and are owned outright by these big multinational corporations.

I guess working hard for a company for close to 30 years, I expect certain things. My bad, your right I chose to stay.
I read a lot of opinions such as these and wonder how long each of you worked at this corp.? Every second of your life has a choice. What choice have you made? Maybe a choice to hire onto a corp and stay with a corp? Did you only learn this ugly side of business when you were RIF'd? Who cares what your neighbor pulls in annually unless you are keeping up with the Jones. It is all your choice: to make more than top management or to not make more than top management. And what about those employees who have not been RIF'd? Seems to me their choice requires thought concerning job security. I bet they make the choice to stay with VZ.
Just saying.
they will only win if we don't stick together, lets show them we are unified and go out and stay out until we have a good contract, too many guys last time complained about running out of money, you had more than a year to save
Agreed!
No need to say anything more. If anyone disagrees, it's just for a reaction.
