CWA’s May 19 statement on AT&T’s plan to buy DirecTV is instructive.

The same month, The Free Press Group, a non partisan group said "“But I have yet to see a merger that created more jobs,” Aaron said via email. “Big companies merge to cut suddenly “redundant” positions … so if you work at a call center or as an installer for one of these companies, especially DirecTV, then you have good reason to be worried about the outcome of this deal. Same if you are in middle management.”
