I thought that this board was for passing information about layoffs for Verizon employees. Union workers are really only associates of the company.

The term LAYOFF is just plain inaccurate. Management employees that have been RIF'd, have been FIRED. A laid off employee has a chance to return to his / her position if recalled.

Call me what you like, I still have a pension, fighting to keep it, while yours is already long gone!

Original Poster, why play the class warfare card? What makes you so exclusive that your percieved peons cannot chime in and have an opinion, cannot participate in the debate? Do we have nothing of substance to add, in your small-minded view of the world?
Union guys got laid off also.

Thats what goes on at work;
No focus on the business, just at each others throats.
Thats what the c class wants here.
Both sides are getting screwed and laid off.
