They want to hold the ra ra BS Market Kickoffs first and then comes the ax. Cant have disgruntled riffed employees in the crowd for the Dog and Pony Go Team Presentations. Just watch the timing come down it will be comical.

You're fired! Sales will be hit next. Sprint changed their geo-footprint to a regional model that Verizon used to have. Verizon wants simpler, less complexity. With the chosen model, Sales will have a hard time connecting with the customer at the local levels. Churn to Sprint is already happening in the masses. If you know how to sell, Sprint may be in your future. If not, Verizon is still good for benes. If they didn't have the benefits, I'm sure many would bail. Verizon cultivates a culture where, as said below, suck ups get all the praise and they are the only ones welcoming any form of rahrah fakery. Better matters. Good advertising on the NFL networks. Something to cheer about.
VZW is a toxic waste dump! The current C-suite has slowly, but surely changed the culture to a negative place. Their oversized egos, unwillingness to recognize their bad decisions, their ability to step on people who worked hard to build the company has created a toxic workplace. They can hold kick-off meetings, but there's no genuine ra-ra -- it's all fakery. We've just witness a ruthless group of executives who will smile in your face one week and have your name on a list the next week to be rif'd. If you're smart, you'll see through the fakery - do what you need to do to make yourself more marketable. Apply for external jobs to see what hits you get. Let others know what it's really like to work at VZW!!
I know that the ra ra rally in our market is a HUGE WASTE OF $$$$$. Why not keep some employees with that ra ra money or give a nice bonus or raise to the employees. Doesn't make sense except show others we are excited about Verizon (not). This company has really gone down fast. What a shame!
