Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Do not let the company divide you! Stand strong! There will be layoffs and they will blame everyone but those in charge!

There will be layoffs. How do you know? They refuse to say otherwise. Insiders are posting on here to divide Union Vs non-Union. Don't buy it. The company has made bad decisions and the only way out is to shed employees. Stay strong. Remember when this was a great company to work for? Those days are gone.

I have the right to get mad when I am f---ed over by some ceo with a bloated salary.

Is life fair? Of course not...and nobody here just realized that because of a 2 line post.

This is where we vent currently.

I love the people on here who think they are a psychologist and can dispense their on rhetoric, anonymously. Almost like they don't want the angry to come together and form a bond or union.

Where have I seen that in history before?

You keep your job when you appoint the people who could fire you

Grown men moaning and groaning that life's not fair. Here's a secret - it isn't. We get hired and laid off at will. No job is guaranteed, not even the biggees. Leaders are paid to lead. And if they lead badly, they get canned by the board and not because a bunch of people on an anonymous board are unhappy. If the dollars and cents say the leaders go then they go.

They will have lay-offs sure, but shortly thereafter, they will release those same jobs to the public. Young blood. Millennials. Millennials. Millennials. Millennials. Millennials. Millennials. Low cost. Low cost. Move to Texas. Huge tax savings. Huge tax savings.

Stick together is right! Just like little-man lowell and his board sticks together on screwing us over.

When the elite stick together to make billions at any cost they call it "just business."

When a few employees want to stick together, maybee unionize, the elite call it "entitlement."

Leading by example? Not here. Not in the u.s.a.

What a great country.

1tv, you claim, "It's being sick of hearing others complaining about "the Man" and getting others all spun up about things they can't do anything about."

We can do things about it. You simply roll over because you have no fight in you, and a disdain for unions.

ihz please completely, the following?

Freedom of speech is the concept of the inherent human right to voice one's opinion publicly without fear of censorship or punishment. "Speech" is not limited to public speaking and is generally taken to include other forms of expression.

You admit, you yourself like to vent, but you are trying to gag other lawful citizens, and stifle their right, under the first amendment, to freedom of speech.

You have a right to your opinion, however, you have NO RIGHT to stifle the opinions of others simply because your "tired of pissy comments." You are piss moaning and groaning about those, you say, are piss moaning and groaning. I SAY, FIRST AMENDMENT. SO I WIN. Perhaps others reading this blog will consider assisting 1tv in how to correctly spell------- HipPowKrit?

@ FqlTFEc-ihz, no it's not intolerance of others. It's being sick of hearing others complaining about "the Man" and getting others all spun up about things they can't do anything about. I do care, quite a lot. It's quite fine to want to vent. Hey, I do it all the time. But it's another thing to try to get others all pissy too because you're feeling crapped on. Like you're some kind of revolutionary. Seriously? Like the union really cares about you any more than management does. Few in charge of any very large organization give a rat about you as an individual. There are some that do. Would that they could all be that way like the corporate CEO that came to a recent viewing I attended for a long-time blue-collar employee of a large corporation. I feel for those who are impacted. I know some and will miss them. But bitterness doesn't make anyone feel better. So make the best of the situation.

I was laid off 3 times, I HAVE NO ISSUES. GOOD PERFORMANCE REVIEWS. Go figure!

Looks like @FqlTFEc-sdv doesn't understand the difference between FIRED and LAIDOFF.

Hmmm "laid off" twice sounds like you have the issue.

Then, nqg don't read the "crap" about management shills? I don't. I come to this board to gather two types of updates: 1 any news about layoffs, that may/will affect me and 2. to read the blogs of people who have lost their jobs, trying my best to understand the hurt, anger, depression that they feel. After all, there are real people behind these blog entries. I read the "hurt" blogs, as I call them, to hopefully understand their feelings because soon enough I could be joining them. I'm simply not that self-centered nor self-absorbed.

Your blog displays intolerance of others and zero patience. In short, you couldn't care less about reading "crap" on this website and your " I choose to be happy and work for my pay" is nothing more than a thinly veiled "Fauck you, I'm alright Jack."

Layoffs occur because businesses change. The wireless business is experiencing slowing growth and market saturation. Get skills IoT projects.

While I agree with much of this post, I'm pretty sick and tired of the crap about management shills posting on here to divide union vs non. Seriously? Do you have to be an insider to not be all that excited about the unions? Like many I'm not all that excited about change either. And maybe for some it's not a great company to work for anymore. For others it is. Welcome to reality. I hated my last job I got laid off from, loved the one before that which I left because of low pay. Here things are working out for me. Maybe I'll get laid off. No one knows. But for while the ride lasts it's the best of the 3 jobs I've had with major corporations. Maybe Lowell and the others are driving this into the ground or maybe things will pan out. But we can already see business has changed from the Ivan way. I choose to be happy and continue to work for my pay. No amount of bellyaching will change things. It just makes you bitter. Maybe bitter people like others to be bitter as well so they can feel good about themselves. That's kind of whacked but probably true.
