Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I admire Donald Trump for his honesty.

He calls it like it is.

Who else but Donald would level with us in the refreshing manner in which he does, as in the debate when he, unlike the others, truthfully and honestly told Americans his opinion, his belief that, for the average American, their "wages [were] too high," explaining, "we're not going to be able to compete against the world, I hate to say it but we're going to have to leave it [minimum wage] the way it is..."

I agree. The middle and lower classes in this nation have far too much, and it's at the expense of the job creators who need it more in order to create new jobs here, for Americans.

If the lower 99% can rein in their greedy ways and cut back a bit more, we can achieve closer to 100% employment, rather than force the struggling corporations and put their backs against the wall, leaving them with no other choice but to export every job than can be offshored, and H-1B whatever remaining jobs have to remain stateside.

I do not understand why the simpleton Lib-tards cannot wrap their minds around the fact that times have changed, and that they better adjust, because their days of living high on the hog are rapidly declining. They were greedy and they had too much. People that run corporations need to make profits and, in doing so, the man or woman willing to produce the most for the least is King (or Queen). Now it's the time for humbler people from Asia to get their due. The meek shall inherit the Earth (and its riches). The Bible was right.

We should not be concerning ourselves with Earthly riches anyhow. It's evil. Our riches await us beyond this terrestrial world. The unionists will one day realize this but, unfortunately, it will then be too late to save themselves as they're meeting their maker on judgment day and openly facing their eternal damnation.

Greed and gluttony are sins. The union worker should have realized this and remained far more humble while on this earthly plain. We all need to know our place in God's plan.

Only a Republican, the likes of Donald Trump or Mitt Romney, can stop this H-1B Visa debacle and the wholesale offshoring of American IT, manufacturing, and professional services.

Democratic candidates are far too pro-business, anti-worker, and anti-union to ever seriously be considered as a serious challenge to finally addressing these current anti-worker phenomenon.

I cannot wait until Trump, or some other trusted 1 percent-er is in office so that they can ignore where their gilded and aristocratic forebears came from and instead finally look after the little guy. It's been 40 some-odd years now since the working-class' woes have been properly addressed and we've suffered greatly under this stagnation that's occurred since the 70s, in terms of real income.

I'm curious as to the limitations of being replaced in just the last 6 months? There have been 10s of thousands replaced just at Verizon alone in the last 4-5 years.

yes it is perfectly legal for Disney to hire legal workers BUT not to replace American workers, that is what this is about. Complaints from Replaced workers will trigger an investigation whether there was a discrimination against Americans. Right now the Feds are not aware of the scale at which it is occurring . It is our responsibility to make them aware via complaints. Something needs to be changed and it will if more and more of us raise our voices against Injustice, whether it is legal or not.

The title of this post is misleading. It infers there is buy-in from the AG.

Disney is in the news. But no rules are broken. It is perfectly OK for coke to sell 70% of its products outside US. And it is perfectly legal for Disney to hire legal workers.

No one, not Verizon or any Corporations in America is above LAW. Like Target's IT department outsourcing and the resultant failures led to the CEO and CIO stepping down. At some point it comes back to bite the corporations like the 2008 wall street fraud.

Yes maybe you should do that. Call the Sheriff, At some point you will get someone who cares. It is this same apathy from IT workers and manufacturing workers that caused jobs to be whisked off to other countries.

People need to remember one thing. The courts of justice, the state officials need to hear first hand from people. So how many WANT TO take the chance to file a complaint. Without anyone filing complaints, the judges are not going to run after people and take action against companies. People are too lazy to even sign petitions and we all EXPECT CHANGE to appear miraculously.

IEEE needs real people to file complaints and the judges can then look into the actions and punish the guilty. INJUSTICES, FRAUD has to be first brought to the attention of law. Why wait for the next man to take action when people here can.

I would say your closing the barn door when the horse is already gone, but your not. Verizon supersedes and is exempt to all Laws. They don't care about lawsuits, or any legal actions. It's like the have a licence to steal. Verizon wanted that horse, it took the door, the barn, and the land it sat on. Now go ahead call the sheriff, see if they care.
