Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Why Has Everyone Become so Jaded and Negative?

Why is everyone so down? There is a plan, if you give it an opportunity to unfold. The future's so bright we should all be purchasing Ray-Bans.

Remember, we must embrace change as change energizes everyone.

Brian Nichols has written a superb piece entitled 4 Lessons I Learned by Holding Verizon Stock for Nearly a Decade. If you need some cheering up, it can be found here. You're welcome:

Posting an article from 2014? This has got to be the Verizon Damage Control's pathetic attempt.

I believe you when you say YOU. need Ray Bans, but something tells me your not really positive and upbeat about vz future. What I suspect is that you are gloating. Guessing of course, but the demise of your more capable colleagues has FINALLY given you, your chance to scream it out. I AM DA MAN! I AM DA MAN. Congratulations little man, you finally get to sit in the big chair, and yes you can post on this website that indeed "your future is so bright you gotta wear shades."

Some of the same folks who hate unions also hate the fact that the American worker is being replaced by folks who are coming here on H-1B visas, and that younger workers are displacing older workers who oftentimes have far more wisdom, simply because they youngin's are willing to work for less.

I know this is gonna sound stupid but if only there were a group that could stop such a thing?

Wait a second...

"The future's so bright we should all be purchasing Ray-Bans."

Maybe this guy is in charge of promoting go90. You can tell by the cool lingo. This is one hep cat.

Maybe if Lowell should start wearing skinny jeans and a leather jacket the kids will think he's cool too.

OP please remember your fluffy satire when you are laid off after years of buying into the mission and working your as$ off. Don't worry your funny little poke at us will get you thru. I only hope that you are offered kindness and support and not mocked and judged as you have done here, its not a good look.

who says anyone was angry?

if people moved on and found happiness outside of a toxic company then good for them.

the article linked is indeed obsolete and indeed fluff, and Donald Trump's candidacy has no bearing on the subject, therefore I mock the OP... he is an obvious kool-aid drinker who cherishes corporate propaganda and meaningless catchphrases.

Please remember the "Change Energizes Us" line when you are severed in the next March layoff. The Leadership of this company should have accountability for the poor financial decisions they have made. Instead they passed it on to the hard working loyal employees over the age of 40.

ftf, funny you should say, "You see guys, losing your job was a good thing because of an obsolete fluff article and Donald Trump!"

Many, many voicers, almost too many to count, on here who have been given severance and moved on have also conceded that it was a good thing. Did you get equally angry at them?

While one might choose to debate the selection process used to determine which management personnel were let go, it might have been legitimately viewed as a bloated system that needed addressing. It's only logical and prudent that one would shed some mid-level Chiefs, if it means keeping more of the Indians (no pun intended), since they're doing the day-to-day nuts and bolts work of keeping this enterprise afloat.

No joke intended, just discourse. Contrary opinions often make people angry. That's probably why a fellow like Trump is such a lightning rod for controversy. He says things that many would rather not hear.

www.fool.com ha ha ha! Statements such as yours make people angry. You may feel differently if you are laid off and have a family to support. Not a great time to be making jokes. Karma my friend.
