I woudn't call them "smart". I would call them thieves. The have stolen the future of the company and the livlihoods of its employees.
These types of problems encountered when executives sit with too many smart people but have no clue what they are talking about.
We have no content....No one will pay to watch crap. Need to get back to the basics and realize we are just the transport. Yes that may mean that wireless is the transport of the future. Just think about the obvious. Att/DirecTV or Verizon/Go90/AOL. Ha What a Joke. Marni saying that the advertising from Go90 is a viable revenue stream is just insane. Ask anyone you know if they even know what Go90 is. And if they do they will tell you it sucks...

Most managers on the wireline side want to eat a bullet.
A whole bunch of associates on the wireline side are either hurt or off on stress disability.

It would have been cheaper to pay every single employee to leave the company rather than what vz is currently up to.

AOL CEO Tim Armstrong has laid out an agressive 5 year plan to become a mobile based advertising conglomerate. In preparation, Verizon will target mobile dependent millenials, signing the savvy generation to long term data plans that their parents pay for. Verizon, in the interim, will sell off everything related to its antiquated outside plant; union contracts, data centers, cell towers, employment, FiOS, etc. and will lease back EVERYTHING necessary to run its core business- mobile dependant advertising. Tim Armstrong, however, expects to tap into seemingly unlimited mobile adverting revenue..... only to find that Verizon is THE one and only mobile advertiser. The revenue they seek is their own. Yes, we've come full circle. Verizon is destined to fail. And as for those savvy millenials, they will find free wifi, paid for, at mom and dads.
FIOS is not Vzw executives idea so they want to approve Ivan was wrong.
