Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

ATT

I realize this is a bad time for many of you, nothing really prepares you for the next step, I lived through the same situation, yet Challenges are meant to be overcome! there is no hill too steep, feat too big or distance too far. You will conquer them all … with time. Challenges in life are just goals to achieve, and you will not back down, ATT is not the company I would like my child work for, for. Many of you this will be an opportunity to find the correct fit in a company that walue their employees, I know this because I did find my company, and I can't believe I put up with the daily abuse.

You're making the right call volunteering for the surplus! I did the same thing last year and it was by far the best decision I have ever made in my life. Get out when it's your choice, not theirs!

This is encouraging. I'm working on my exit strategy now whether I'm surplussed or not. I've decided to volunteer for the surplus. I've gotten too comfortable and while I am grateful for the good times. Its time I be loyal to MYSELF. I hate looking over my shoulder every 60 days, pretty soon no one will be left. When does it stop? Well the answer is it doesn't stop until YOU stop it. Im taking back the reigns over my life TODAY!!!

Excellent post. I can add to this. I was also abused daily at AT&T. (Lots of yelling...insults...personal attacks, etc...I'm sure others are familiar with similar treatment.) I got laid off and found a new job. My new job is terrible and awful, but even my worst day here is still a million times better than my best day at AT&T. No matter what happens to those who are laid off...you will be better off. You will never find a job as miserable as AT&T ever again.
