Thank You for the Titanic comparison.....I was off work for a few months for a injury.... You don't realize how bad it really is till you remove yourself from At&t for a time!! What a Stress reduction to say the least....I also don't want to be with the last 3 people playing music on the Titanic to the very end!! Your health and just plain being happy are far more important to me. Sad because all of my co-workers are planning for a exit plan also.....

I volunteered to be part of the lay-offs last year and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Now that I'm out, I'm trying to figure out how I put up with all the constant abuse. It turns out in other jobs yelling, insulting people on conference calls, calling people names, etc is not ok and is not tolerated. Outside jobs pay much better, too. The grass is sooooo much greener.

I retired as an Executive Director on 03/29/13. I couldn't wait to go after almost 40 years. I have seen the company go down hill so far so fast. Basically, if something was 65% correct it was close enough, Customer Service ? Forget about it. Just make your numbers (cheat if you have to, nobody really looked at how you derived them as long as the PowerPoint looked pretty), say everything is great and getting better, play the game by AT&T's unwritten "rules" and you can go far in this company. Of course, I don't know how you can look yourself in the mirror in the morning, but hey, just follow what Dallas wants this week and keep being positive, polite & professional and you will go far.

Much happier now in my own private business where I am actually adding value and where I don't have to listen to the corporate BS anymore. To those who are left, please accept my sincerest best wishes an my hope that things will work out for you. Prepare your exit strategy like I did and you will be fine, there absolutely is life after AT&T

As Dr Suess said.... Go Dog Go!

Get out and improve your Life and Career! It will not be easy....but you

Will look back and wonder why you put up with declining holidays, compressed wages and bonus, bureaucracy, and BS. Nothing is perfect. But why hang out and watch the deck chairs rearranged on the Titanic.
