In 2003 i was laid off along with almost 3000 other wireline technicians. Verizon fought my unemployment with petty stall tactics that made no sense to the state unemployment office, and then when I applied for a new company totally unrelated to communications, during my background check with the new company, Verizon refused to acknowledge that i had even worked there for the past 6 years. The new job was security sensitive, and i had a 6 year unexplained gap in my life. Not only was Verizon very uncooperative, they we a hindrance with me moving on with my life.

In Ohio you can file after your last day. Severance doesn't affect unemployment here.
did you get a severance package? Than you cant get unemployment for 6 months
We lost access on our last day. There is a link on the severance portal where you can go to get some information that used to be on About You
