Finance transformation layoff vs promotion

After 19 Nov lay offs, so many people got promoted. Sr analysts became managers. What does that mean? Any ideas? Getting rid of us and award others.

'Schlonged' again by the VZ power elite: = re "No promotion, no change in job, just a change in titles - again. 3rd time in 2 years for me."

You can bet your rainbow-colored 6 Sigma belts that their is no deviation in the standard deviance of the "New" VZ's management mal-policies & mal-procedures.

They don't remember who their customers are. They don't remember what they are selling. So they don't know how to sell it, or manage it.

And therefore your work life at the HR & Product Development Fantasyland will continue to be dictated from management by management best-seller from long ago and Dilbert comics.

My guess is that your next promotion will also have the same pay, but you will likely have a new title like: Supercillious Senior Most Important Individual Contributor. That is until your next promotion to an even more senior, same paying level.

"Work your fingers to the bone, whaddaya get?, boney fingers!"

Yes assoc directors are going away. Now it's manages, and senior managers. Welcome to the dumbing down of Verizon.

I noticed a "manager" position emerged that has no direct reports. And then a Sr manager position that does have direct reports. There seems to be fewer associate directors.

A little bit of squeezing, and a little bit of the banking game. Fist they are trying to flatten out the reporting structure, by 'rounding up' - and rounding down, levels.

The banking game is kind of like 'big hat, no cattle'. If you want to eat peace at lunch time or not be crowded out in the bathrooms of a banking institution, don't use the 'officers' dining room or facilities; because just about everybody at a bank is an officer.

The appearance of a promotion is not always as it appears.
