VZ = Toxic to people and America? No question. A meritocracy, customer and investor focused company, No More! In its place are is some really warped thinking. Orwell would be impressed with the malmeaning of things like "code of conduct", "credo", "diversity", "equal opportunity". It truly is an 'interesting' time to be alive in this country. What I witnessed during my time at VZ will forever color how I view the inherent lies of the progressive-corporate-buseaucracy.

There was a time when a Christmas Eve breakfast was provided as a small acknowledgement of contributions made. Not anymore. Instead, "Here's your work and, by the way, your group will have to take your 1/2 day some other time." Quite depressing.

"Great Opportunity" Oh yeah... to be told every day that you suck, that your family doesn't matter, that you are not a human being. That you are a number judged by your numbers. The "great opportunity" to use the QARS program to falsely discipline innocent people. To make the job oppressive under the cloak of customer satisfaction. To make the job so oppressive you don't want to be a work. The favoritism, and don't let me get started on this one, because it does go into the racial area, no question about that! Oh yeah, Great Opportunity.

Don't be confused- this latest round was all about getting rid of older well paid employees- my job posted as well 3 weeks ago but I decided the toxic environment is not worth the stress of staying with this company.

Same thing happened to me and a co-worker. I challenged HR about it, they claimed it was a mistake and took the postings down.

Yep...this is true. there hiring off the street people that McDonalds might not hire as a counter person. They haven't one clue about the operation their managing, let alone any managing skills. And now promoting absolute morons into higher positions. Lowell is purposely bringing Verizon Wireline to it's knees. This is a designed sabotage to make it fail. I'm sure of it now.

They can pay them less.
