Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

this group of "leaders" should never have been allowed to be, they don't care about their employees nor their customers.

Execs say this reorg is to benefit the customer...really?? Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. Want to save money look at your exec spending habits...spent millions on telepresence rooms and all meet in Florida of which none are from and have extended dates.

What they have done is just wrong. I can't wait till they run the company into the ground and the share holders give them what they deserve.

Does anyone know who does the actual counting of the votes for the executives of the board? With all of the dislike for those at the top, I fail to see how they keep getting reelected. Are those doing all of the complaining, simply not voting? Also, are the results of the votes available?

This is the group that started that nonsense of calling each other "leaders". Interesting because there is not a "leader" in the bunch, which is why there are no growth prospects on the horizon, and little respect for customers or employees. Glad to be gone, as the road ahead looks to be more than a little bumpy for those who remain. But that is not my problem anymore.

Nailed it @Fc7inM0-itc. I remember when all employees would share the knowledge and help others. Helping your fellow employees is a thing of the past here at VZW. Selfish generation of people coming up now through the ranks, sad times. The new generation coming up doesn't know the meaning of teamwork and what it means to lookout for one another. it seems that VZ is promoting this culture, they have no CREDO. Could care less anymore, I'm out.

As an ex-verizon customer these layoffs are no surprise. The Verizon wireless service is and was totally overpriced. The customer service people in whatever store I went to were very snobbish. Basically their attitude was either pay big time for the phone and service or leave the store.

So I left the store. Sold my phones on ebay and spent 1/3 with ATT and Sprint to get 3 times the minutes and data.

The writing was on the wall. You can't screw your customers forever. They will leave. I'm just surprised on how long it took. Shame of it is that the top management and board of directors are too blame but it's the workers who get the pink slip.

We are all snickering at the downward spiral here. They waste so much money on trips and luxury box seats at pro sports events and then say it was a meeting. The leaders are fleecing this business. CREDO m bunghole!!
