Sorry but Verizon is just too damn expensive. Period.
To those that have left, I am truly sorry. It's definitely a terrible thing to happen to anyone, but driving customers away, while it may make you feel happy for revenge sake, may eventually lead to other employees (whom are just as worthy as you are) to be afflicted by even more layoffs. We are the ones who truly suffer. If the company went belly up tomorrow, do you really think that the leaders (whom you blame for your predicament) lives would be altered at all? They are set for life regardless. Remember Karma is real, and would not just be solely delt to only the rich and powerful. My new neighbor is a high level manager in a local small business, and I was able to have her sign up their company for complete landline and broadband + cells for their 130 employees. Just doing my part to bring in customers so that hopefully those left maybe can continue to keep working here. Hope there are more like me than you. Nuff said, Ok haters have at it.....
Good dgl, I am glad to hear that. And nza, I know it is a drop in the bucket, but sooner or later it is going to catch up to them. What arrogance a CFO of a publicly traded company states they only want certain customers. This is the technology world Verizon lives in and things change quickly. Just take a look at BlackBerry or Nokia as a reminder of what being arrogant gets you.
@-UEG. right on brother. we did the same in our family also. I am the "techy" one in the family and after telling my vz story the masses in the fam. switched service providers for home and mobile and we have a few small biz owners in the family that switched services also. i know business prices are a premium but the competition is more than happy to oblige. to be honest, everyone is happier with their new providers vs. being with verizon. also, none of them will subscribe use their car's "OnStar" or "Vehicle WiFi" if it's based on the verizon wireless network.
I even helped a technically challenged customer choose a good cable modem at best buy last month vs. steering him toward fios.

The executive characterizes those who have "moved on" from Verizon Wireless are more interested in pricing than the quality of the network. Shammo says that price-sensitive customers are the ones that Verizon is not going keep, or want anyway. So there it is basically..Let them eat cake. Verizon doesn't care.
I alone was responsible for canceling over 20 lines of service in January between myself, friends and family. After all I was laid off 12/31 and no one wants to support a company that does that to a friend or family member. So, multiply that by the thousands of others laid off. Q1 2016 results are going to suck and the stock will tank again.

The street isn't smart enough to look at sustainability, back in the "good old days" you had a few analyst who understood the sector and the street would go from that information. Today everyone is just looking at the numbers for this quarter because no one invests for the long haul. Triads have become too cheep.

29 days ago it was walmart, which is in the top ten with vz and at&t in the S&P today. what vz has is not sustainable. they will keep cutting heads here until they get lucky with something that gives them a big pay day. it's a bubble here. everyone knows it. vz has no roots. the tree trunk is rotting away and all wee do is beat on the limbs and hope for something fruitful. if the big pay day never comes then they will say "we knew this was not sustainable." by then lowell will be too old to be in charge. it will take a while but with the current excuse for leadership this will come to an end. all the telcom companies act the same so very little will change until it all comes crashing down.
until then, use this place as a paycheck and remember how they treated and treat you here.
