Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

The King Has No Clothes

This one investment strategist provides an analysis, although a personal one, of AT revenues fell short of analyst's expectations; 2.5Bn predicted by the company for DirectTV acquisition in 2015 now modified to 1.5Bn instead; the company still has to continue paying dividends to shareholders; Stephenson himself, in a roundabout way, says they are entering into a mode of debt control. Personal prediction: layoff more people to show a short term gain. Your thoughts?

Layoffs will continue to happen until operating costs are brought to the determined number. Most likely, 40% will be cut by 2020. Stephenson has not to many options. AT&T will do another early retirements again most likely next year, that will clean a lot of executives and senior people from AT&T. The remainder will be laid off and replaced by the likes of TechM. DirectTV sucked up a lot of capital which needs to be replenished. With cord cutters on the upswing, DitectTV will suffer in future years.
