May be old news but FCC approved Frontier purchasing Verizon's wireline business in California, Florida and Texas. Since AT&T has expressed their desire to get rid of the wireline business, wondering if we are next?

I'm not saying that what you are saying doesn't make sense, but I still go back to my original question. If they were going to just sell it off, why invest billions into it now?
Why do you think ATT will keep fiber? They sold Connecticut and guess what went with that? All fiber including the transport to the cell towers. The Mobility data center transport is now using the "local phone company" why would anyone think they would want to maintain transport when they can reduce employees and associated costs like pensions, medical and hire contractors to work the towers and Frontier to do transport. Wake up Verizon sold Florida, Texas and California and is only keeping the cell service. All transport went to the "phone company" Want to guess who? Not SBC, Frontier picked it all up.
SBC was NOT the dominant carrier in Texas regardless of what the Texans think.
Not reality. U-verse techs are being cross trained on DTV installs. Not the other way around.

AT&T is looking to sell data centers valued at $2 billion. Not many details have been released about the exact properties they are looking to sell, but yes AT&T is willing to continue selling off pieces connected to its wireline business to support wireless. Frontier purchased AT&T wireline assets in Connecticut last October.
Here we go again. No. Just No. At&T has not expressed interest in getting rid of wireline. Who do you think is running fiber to all these new locations? Why would they spend the billions they've been spending in fiber installs If they plan on selling it.
Now do they want to keep the older technology (pots and the like) no, of course not. So will they shrink wireline? Yes. But shrinking and getting rid of are entirely different things.
