Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

AT&T sells your employment data to an outside agency called TheWorkNumber.com for employment verification.

Now that you are layed off after 20-30 years with AT&T, any potential new employer must pay to verify your employment through this scam company Theworknumber.com. I lost a job opportunity because my employment was too difficult to verify with AT&T

It does not look like ATO leadership know what they are doing. They are running with their heads cut off. Bill Hog gave a speech of how he wants to go completely open source. They have no idea how much skill people need to have to do open source, it is not like you are buying something off the shelf and paying the vendor to hold your hand. The good people that I used to work with are all gone. Who is left? TechM does not have the skills to pull off complex enterprise level open source projects. So what happens now? No people, no money and clueless management who do not have a clue about anything related to business, operations and technology. The only they know how to do is blame others, take credit for anything good that happens, come up with lame ideas with lane expectations.

3.1 billion i believe would be used for the spectrum play, paying down debt and probably eyeing another company. Its obvious that there is some soft of shortage, to find "lost" unaccounted pension money??? And the lecture on frugality from leadership via a all hands meeting.

Money IS an issue.

ATO had people who could do everything open source and it either laid them all off or made things so awful they quit. I honestly don't understand the end game in ATO.

I think they are planning to use the money to buy yahoo. AT&T also raised more cash via bonds, about 100 billion worth. Meanwhile, we here in ATO are running without a defined sustainment budget, cannot raise any cash to do any project, cannot hire people. We are forced to do products using strickly open source. The problem we do not have any people to pull of projects using strickly open source. It hell here.

Lol! Low on money.... AT&T reported 3.1 billion in free cash for q4 2015. I think they have plenty of money.

AT&T is running low on money so this is one more way for them to raise cash :).
