It is that time again, so I hope we have spent the past few months preparing.

I'm not disappointed in being riffed from Verizon its a blessing to leave but being over 50 and having to start from square one after 25 yrs service is very hard. 2 weeks vaca no seniorityand lower wage, I feel I've put my time in to start over after 25 yrs of toil and stress from this place is very hard to do thanks Verizon I really feel cast off.
The leadership here has a choice tonot be selfish. They choose to be selfish. On judgement day they will get theirs no doubt. Don't believe in the book of Proverbs, that's cool but the big business people here have sold their soul. And there's a price for that.

Good comment @upj. There is nothing funny about being laid off as an older person. This company has undoubtedly ruined many lives. I was laid off in November but found new employment in December with a huge cut on pay. I worked for Verizon for 25 years. I wish all those who have been and will be rif'd the best of luck!
hey God ? Listen! I'm nothing to do with blogger elj . When you throw down that bolt of lightning to turn elj into toast, take an extra moment to look around, just to make sure I ain't nowhere close? Ok? I ain't saying he don't deserve it, but heck, that fire and brimstone crap scares the be-Jesus out of me. I ain't one to spread gossip but word on the street is elj is ........is .....well he's, you know..... unclean, not one of US, you know........Union? Enough said, right? just saying. The wife and I increased our church donation now when they pass around the collection plate its $2. Yes sir! Up from $1 to $2 and that's EVERY week............ROFLMAO. Human kind what a worthless species we are. Any God that would create such a selfish species needs to go back to creation 101.

Good Luck @ywa..... The execs are looking at numbers to RIF, so you , by volunteering, will probably get your wish..more good luck finding work 50+, it aint easy

My director visited our office this week, something he only does when there are cuts. At 19yrs of svc, I volunteered. Wish me luck, and here's to a career reboot at 50...
