Why are we not getting any new updates? Last one was from Thanksgiving. Are they not meeting?

@3vtv agreee with you. The current problems here are not the overworked associates. Union or not, they are not the problem. People need to stop drinking the cool aid already.

Of course i think thats a management troll post.

@3env has to be an upper management shill poster, or maybe a person who gets his knowledge of unions from the Rush Limbaugh show. Really, 60 days? What percentage of union workers is taking the equivalent of 3 months off per year? God I pray people are smarter than to fall for this BS.

maybe, just maybe the union members should work harder? Stop bitching about everything under the sun. Stop jerking the system with 60 sick days per year.Productivity is just awful. I feel sorry for the dedicated union force who work hard all the time and dont play the game. But union leadership condones awful work behaviors . Just look at the union stewards. Think these fools have any clout? Really look at them. Get smart

really. Does anyone here really care at all if the union destroys lowell or vice versa? They are just meant for each other.

Jackson Lewis is one firm Same firm cablevision and comcast use. Its no wonder as the verizon fios world is run like a piss poor version of a cable company.

@poster 1wzh, if what you say is true (and I have no reason not to believe it based on how this CEO treats both union and lower management workforce) then please give us the name of this Boston firm and some more details. I believe it's time for PSC's/PUC's to get involved in sorting out Verizon's books.

Who would want to buy a company with a disgruntled unionized labor force? Most companies find vz very hard to deal with on all fronts. Having one or two or three things out of wack in large company is to be expected. Having everything and everyone running scared is what vz has now, and i am sure that doesn't look attractive to a potential buyer.

McGreedy should have sold it all off prior during the Ca,Tx,Fl sale. Instead he thought it would be a sale with a big price tag in 2016.

As you will see this was just another bad biz decision.

Vz's problems are mounting rapidly.

The solutions are becomming fewer by the month.

So what happens when V sells the rest of the wireline business to F and there's no contract in place?

Poster 1wzh is correct as I have heard the same that Lowell will stop at nothing to break the unions and has hired anti union consulting firms to help keep wireless from unionizing in 2016 when store closures and more rifs come.

The landline guys and girls are working under the terms of the old contract as a matter of law.

That is not decided by lowell. This is labor law.

That pisses lowell off.

In the mean time lowell is paying a Boston anti union law firm about 100x what it would cost to settle a contract with lowell's union represented employees.

Lowell is hiding the BILLIONS$$ he is paying the law firm on paper as "operating expenses."

MAKE NO MISTAKE lowell wants the union gone EVEN IF IT TANKS THE BUSINESS.

Lowell thinks this is Hostess not verizon.

The main goal of lowells employment here is to wage war with unions NO MATTER THE COST to the business.

He is taking this business apart, piece by piece.

Ask more questions so I can give you some more answers.

The answers are not sweet and pretty, just honest.

They are working under the terms of the existing contract, to the best of my knowledge.

I was told Shelton and Mooney are trying to schedule a meeting with Lowell to get negotiations moving. Until then there won't be any bargaining and probably won't get an update until 2016. I have not heard about anymore RIFS in Virginia yet. However with no contract, can the company says there is no job security and start laying off associates at will?

Does not make sense that they are not talking because of RIFs coming. Those have nothing to do with contract negotiations. We just had an EISP and I hope that I can be included in the next one. I am ready to go!

They are waiting until February to drop the next bomb. Verizon Wireless & Verizon Landline will start cutting heads again from all departments from directors down. They have no clue the crap storm that is coming. Start saving your money and get out of debt because you could be next on the chopping block. Severance packages will not be the same either. Help us all.

The negotiations team don't want to mess up their holiday plans.
