Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Closings

Does anyone know if att plans on closing the collections departments and training those reps as care reps?? I saw where Chicago and Houston collections were closed. I heard in January we all will be trading again and a lot of changes will be made.

AT&T is ditching all their young engineers as well. A lot got laid off in March and a lot more are being unofficially informed they're going to be dumped next year. The older engineers at least have a shot at keeping a job at AT&T due to the experience and knowledge....

Jobs areavailable, but not or people in their 50's, Fifty Is the New 65, at AT&t Older Americans Are Getting Booted From Their Jobs, and Denied New Opportunities, I have seen very accomplished professionals let go, while "others" got to keep their jobs. It was never about performance...

Customer care layoffs at 225 W Randolph came in waves. The last layoff resulted in 30+ hitting the street because places to land are as scarce as hens teeth. I heard that Peoria Ill is no longer accepting those who need jobs. Last December some were accepted at the Grace St. location but I did not hear of anyone getting in there this time around. So many laid off here that openings - even for downgrades- no longer exist. So many title groups affected.
