They created something of great worth to me - a good salary, peace of mind, an advocate. And for what, 1%of my pay. Seems an equitable deal to me, more equitable than many others are being treated.

All i know is the company fires people and the union don't. It is really that simple. Once again the poor middle class are worried about the unions protecting the lazy but they don't worry about the upper management protecting their other entitled rich buddies

The union should do what unions were founded to do: protect the best most skilled workers from cheap knock offs (I'm talking trade unions). Now all the union seems to is promote laziness and protect workers who have been on disability for months on end, or are chronic under performers. If you come to work and do a good job as a union employee the stewards look at you as if something is wrong with you and encourage you to do less because "you are making everyone look bad". I thank the union for the pay, benefits, and job security; but seriously, they defend some of the most worthless and incompetent employees I have ever seen. Just think about it, where else in the country can you go to work year after year failing to meet the minimum company standards and still get a paycheck and not get fired? Don't get me wrong, the Union has done a lot of great things, and I am grateful, but it needs to get its act together and encourage its members to be professional members of the trade, not entitled slobs who bring the whole organization down for all members.

Have a signed contract and be ready to put on my Frontier shirt. I feel for all RIF'd recently, but this is not the union's fault. This is only an executive decision. To make more profit you increase revenue or reduce expenses. Too incompetent or short-sighted to increase revenue, let's reduce expenses at the expense of good hardworking people who gave many years of dedicated service. Union is just as scared about the direction of this place, but at least we have each other. Not much, but there is strength in numbers.

If all of you in the East were as efficient as your peers in the West, you might already have a signed contract in hand.

I worked with a non union wireless tech last week.

Me: Again, you guys would do everyone a favor and organized.

Him: They treat us well, no union needed.

Me: You know if I retire today I will leave with a very nice pension.

Him: I have a 401k

Me: Good for you, so do we.

Him: The amount of your pension isn't much in todays money

Me: Better then zero

You see the problem, brain washed.

Once again 204182 you show your true self. You are ignorant and simply have no class.Maybe you should have joined a Union and you may still have a job. Obviously you are one of the people being talked about, Maybe some guilt.? There is no reason to get nasty. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion.
