Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Hedge funds

If AT&T is laying off so many why are hedge funds recommending to stop buying Apple and buy AT&T?

One facet of my position in Technology Planning & Engineering (TP&E ) is to analyze capital and expense allocated to Master Projects as well as the actuals. I've noticed that Corporate Finance and Capital Management Office has been siphoning allocated capital with a reason code of "D2.0 SAVINGS ". I don't know exactly how the finance gods in Dallas are calculating the amounts but the amounts are pretty high. AT&T has many tricks up its sleeve to meet financial expectations. The dividend yield is greater than a lot of bonds traded on the market. The stock I relatively cheap per share. Apple's stock price is prohibitively expensive and I don't think that they pay a dividend. AT&T is consolidating office space, paying ridiculous attention to power bills, and the extremely low price of gas saves us a crap ton of money. I personally think that you haven't a clue about market dynamics. Good luck with that.

And more demand for higher salary / bigger bonus and stocks for the top few.

There is absolutely no way at&t can be recommended over Apple - keep dreaming!!!!!

Layoffs are sometimes good and sometimes bad. Our layoffs are generally perceived as a part of shrinking business, so it's not like you are cutting to be more efficient, it's simply that we have less demand
