The day I received my RIF call was the start of my 2 month paid vacation. Take time to relax and enjoy the holidays.
I was let go last week too after 18 years. It was the best phone call I have ever received. This company is sinking fast with its current leadership, but we all saw it coming with Lowell in charge. There is life after Verizon. Take time to decompress and start over. Keep your head up. You will be fine. :-)
33 years and let go - so ya I know your pain - didn't even get a freaking retirement lunch after STARTING the legacy company - Have slept better than ever, this is the first time in 33 years I have had 2 weeks off in a row! Blessing in disguise!

I was let go too. I've been sleeping well since then. It is time to move on. I can say I worked here when we had both first class assets and first class management. Now the management is chasing dreams of kids with bundles of money and no financial sense. Kind of like the new coke.

Same here, I am starting to recover - hey, it is what it is. I am still here, as you can see I have hard time with letting it go
