What can they do, lay me off again?

If your end date is December 31 and you are supposed to have a severance package, maybe a 401k matching, and you are fired before that date, you will loose it all. They want people to get pissed off and say or do something that is a fireable offense. I think generally on any RIF with any large company, around 10% of the people get pissed and curse out a manager or break something and loose everything. The companies love that to happen.
Do not loose your cool.
watch your back!
As long as you have not used any unparliamentary language then you are good. Telling what you think of someone is not a cause for termination.
Maybe the OP meant he thanked her for all the great things she did for him over his career :)
Is it true that they can terminate you during transition period even if you do NO harm to the organization but barely spoke your mind in front of the manager. All I hear from leadership is that they want to make transition with dignity. Why should they will take manager's face value but not one who are affected by this lay off. If you are fired during transition just for speaking your mind will not this result into lawsuit. Appreciate your comment.
Why do that? Serves no real purpose other than ensure you burn all your bridges. You never know what's down the line. Kills any chance of rescue by finding another internal job. Know you're pissued but, as a former wirelline retiree, I dodged many RIFs. A couple where I was on the list and had been notified. Saved by positive reputation and found internal jobs..one of my last day. And even if you don't, show them the class that they should have shown you.
WATCH OUT ! she can hurt you more than you can hurt her. (hold up your severance payout with BS reasons, make sure you review the checklist to see what you have to urn in to her on last day).
Be carefull, if you told her off to her face, they can terminate you for cause.
Then you are in a world of hurt.
AWESOME!!! I know that had to have felt great!
615, I'm thinking #566 was talking about in the 'real world'... Telling her what he thought of her to her face, not in this internet fantasy land.
The cannot terminate you even if you had used her real name, because anyone could have posted such message on your name just to defame you.
Yes, white, male, 60 years old.
They can terminate you prior to the RIF date. So, be careful.
She keeping her job?
Are you white male or older worker?
