Wouldn't matter if your Rif'd or not, your still on the hook until the off payroll date. And the company can fire you before your rif date.

Once a person is RIFed he/she does not need to goto office until their last working day. So assuming that all the layoffs for this year will be notified by Next week, UNION should consider striking from 23rd of November.

If they are wise, the unions whould strike at the end of the year, once all of the rifs are off of the payroll. Then the company would no longer be in a position of being able to field as many manager - techs. But it will not likely happen.
