Anybody else watching this clown show on TV tonight? The answer to every single question is to cut business taxes and cut regulations. Who here thinks Verizon is overtaxed or overregulated? I think we've been played for about 30+ years now and I'm ready to vote accordingly next election.

The federal taxes, including matching FICA and medicare and medicaid and unmployment on an employee vs H1B is $34,600 per year, and that's not a difference in pay; that's difference in cost imposed by fed on corp for you as employee. Add that to your benefits package and hourly rate and you get a clue to why businesses are dumping employees and going to H1Bs. Our only hopr)e is to force congress to shutdown H1Bs. Accounting for federal regulations sucks out $2 trillion a year. You read that correctly, 1/7th of the GDP goes to cover / implement regulations. Whoever thinks of calling the messengers clowns needs to wake up.

I'm the OP. Let me say that I'm certainly not naïve enough to think that the Democrats are totally innocent, but both sides are not the same either. Which party wants to do away with the NLRB, the Democrats or the Republicans? Which party voted 100% against an amendment last year to repeal the Citizens United decision? the working guy is headed toward a future of nothing but minimum wage/no benefit jobs available and yet still gets tricked into saying both parties are killing him equally.
Whether VZ is over taxes or regulated has little to do with the recent layoffs, or thus forum. Politicians play you - both sides - to get your vote. If you are just figuring that out now after 30 years, Lord help us.
